Archive for the 'Local News' CategoryNew Tourism Project For Nova Scotia
As a business owner in Nova Scotia’s tourism/entertainment industry you have no doubt noticed that times are changing. Due to new technologies and a turbulent economy, many things including the way the world does business, the way people shop and the way people travel have changed dramatically. Traditional print advertising is no longer as effective as it once was, traditionally strong markets can no longer be relied upon to draw customers. As businesses owners we too must change, we must find new ways to promote ourselves, our businesses and our amazing province. Enaira Marketing is developing a revolutionary new tourism project exclusively for Nova Scotia. It allows you, the business owner to have a real online presence, a direct way to tell travelers about your business and what makes it special. ScotiaPages is an Online Travel Guide and HD TV Channel. ScotiaPages.com features listings for business, events, articles and much more! Enaira Marketing is a marketing company based out of Bangor (near Meteghan). |

Education Sessions will focus on preventing stroke and heart disease
Shelburne, Yarmouth and Digby County residents are invited to attend information sessions to help them make life changes to prevent stroke and heart disease. Tri-county residents are invited to attend the Heart and Stroke “Live and Learn” patient education series presented by South West Health’s cardiovascular program. The free program begins Tuesday, October 6th (2PM to 4:00PM) and will run each Tuesday afternoon in October for four weeks. “Live and Learn” educational presentations cover a variety of subjects including: understanding stroke and heart attack – its causes, effects and risk factors, diagnostic tests, medications, nutrition, physical activity, sexual activity, driving, addictions, stress management, Emergency Health Services, and community resources. Each session has an education portion and a question period, and is interactive, informative and fun. Each participant will have an opportunity to set their own health goals to work towards throughout the sessions. Most presentations will take place at Yarmouth Regional Hospital but will be broadcast by Telehealth to Digby General Hospital and Roseway Hospital. This way, participants can attend the course at their local hospital. They will view the presenters on a television monitor, they will be seen by others attending the session at the other hospitals and they can ask questions as if they were attending the sessions in person. To register for the “Live and Learn” sessions please call 902-742-3542 ext. 460. |
