So who is Good Morning South West Nova Scotia?

Hi! I’m Garth Wyman a South West Nova Scotia resident and the owner of Sunrise Printing Ltd.,  I’m also the blog administrator of the Good Morning South West Nova Scotia website. I’ve been in the commercial printing business in Yarmouth since 1977. Like most companies I advertise to make the community aware of my company and it’s products and services. Over the years I’ve had customers just “Drop in” from as far away as Alaska and California and tell me how they just stumbled upon my business touring around the community and some of these tourists ordered printing or services and some just walked away with a free notepad or a pen, my point being “they stopped in” and I was glad they did!

Last summer while watching tourists arrive at the Ferry Terminal I asked myself, “How do we tell these folks what’s here? Sure there’s the tourist information Bureau with staff answering questions and handing out brochures and pamphlets. The larger companies promote themselves on expensive government owned and controlled content publications and there are websites for listings of accommodations and restaurants and things to do for a tourist. Did you know there is no common place for our local business to offer products and services?

According to statistics there are over 246 million internet users just in North America (Internet stats).

There are thousands of people driving and walking off the boat and even more people globally that not only carry the internet with them but they own businesses that could be buying products or services from us in  South West Nova Scotia.

This is where I got the idea for the blog style website and decided it’s time to act!

The purpose of the www.GMSWNS.com website is to help promote local business and the communities of South West Nova Scotia by offering a free and easy to use “Self Administered” blog style website. The membership list is growing everyday and I have many registered users (not all subscribers contribute) and nearly 16,000 visits a month.

The website includes a community calendar, reciprocal website links, brag space for your business or service group.

As the website grows I have been adding more categories (see the right sidebar) and am looking to you for suggestions to expand this new website. All the feedback I’ve been getting is positive and everyone enjoys the site and how easy it is to navigate and use.
